Proto-Renaissance
The Renaissance begins in the early 1300s. Some people call this period “Late Gothic” — which just means the late Middle Ages, while other people call it the “Proto-Renaissance” — the beginnings of the Renaissance.
In any case, a big revolution is beginning to take place in the early 1300s — in the way people think about the world, the way they think about the past, and the way they think about themselves and their relationship with God.
